Ummah Oum, featuring the amazing vocals of Shahin Badar, is one of the stand-out tracks from the latest Kaya Project album Desert Phase. In this digital-only remixes ep, Ummah Oum (translated as "people wake up") gets reworked treatments by the world-fusion talents of Adham Shaikh, Makyo, 100th. Monkey and Kaya Project. 

Alongside the original version the 5 new mixes take Shahin's haunting vocals into distant and exotic realms, each with a distinct flavor of their own. From the outset the melodic, midtempo Glitchbeats mix sets up a large, dusty tribal groove that leads to MMakyo's sultry bellydance-inspired interpretation and carries into Adham Shaikh's soaring gypsy dub perspective. Next up comes the 100th. Monkey remix, a deeper late-night variation veiled in mystique that drifts, like desert sand, into the instrumentally-rich and mellow oasis of Kaya Project's slow hop mix.
