2019 sees Suns of Arqa celebrate an impressive milestone in their musical legacy. In forty years they've released more than forty albums and have collaborated with upwards of 200 artists from around the world. (The full list is at Wikipedia and includes many well known names.) At the center of it all has been Michael Wadada, who produced the first album" Revenge of the Mozabites" with his friend Adrian Sherwood in 1979.

Suns of Arqa are recognized for being the first to blend Indian Classical music with dub. An exploration of their deep and varied catalog brings up myriad exotic combinations. They are one of the true originators of the whole global music scene.

A festival favourite over the years Suns of Arqa have graced many a stage around the world. From Peter Gabriel's first Womad festival in 1982, to this year's Ozora Festival in Hungary.
