traveling the uncharted terrains of music, the man behind the liquid stranger project is martin staaf. born in varberg on the westcoast of sweden, martin grew up with an interest in electronic equipment, martial arts and film. into music from the very beginning, he started playing the piano at an early age but was not really satisfied until he got hold of his first synthesizer at the age of 8. since then he has been producing a huge amount of music, ranging from suggestive ambient soundscapes to movie scores, pop, epic dubtronica, punk, drill n’bass and experimental electronica. always pushing the sonic boundaries and merging genres martin aims to create a soulful blend of new and unique grooves and atmospheres.

In 1998 martin formed the techno outfit necton together with patrik olsén. it became an instant success with many releases on different labels and gigs all over the world. during this time he also made an array of highly acclaimed breakbeat tunes as rhoca for muti music and gothenburg-based label sound of habib; released funky techhouse on ministry of sound and random recordings; produced techno as slugger for numerous labels; and put out idm, electronic pop as well as chillout music under various pseudonyms.

a prolific producer, martin spends most of his non studio-time practicing yoga and martial arts, hiking, teaching and studying shamanism in phoenix, arizona.
