viceversa is the debut album by mauxuam aka maurizio liguori, a veteran of the global underground electronic scene. a distillation of music recorded over a 3 year period as he was traveling between continents, viceversa is a nomadic diary with a multitude of influences. with deep roots in afrobeat and psychedelic funk while borrowing elements from dub, dub-step, breakbeat, glitch and found sounds along the way, mauxuam offers up a groundbreaking and visionary odyssey into free range electronica.

steeped in a philosophy of the simultaneous existence of opposites, viceversa is a granular sound cloud of endless refractions that transcends genres altogether. made with a number of contributing musicians including greg hunter (subsurfing/alien soap opera), master margherita (peaking goddess collective), shiranami, and craig musham (organismic), this highly engaging album overflows with intricate yet raw tracks that are sure to shake bass bins worldwide.

after taking a 7 year hiatus from the professional music industry mauxuam returned to producing in 2005. he has since had tracks featured on compilations from interchill (dissolving clouds, sub signals vol. 1 and future memories); indica music (vajra); and electronic soundscapes (polymorphic convolutions) and has performed at several top european festivals. the 2008 summer festival season finds him playing live sets at a number of events including the glade festival in the uk, boom festival in portugal, furthur gathering in spain, and at electric picnic in ireland.

‘future memories’ is compiled by interchill label dj/a&r nathalie edell and features 10 previously unreleased tracks by top ambient and downtempo producers.

with hypnotic beats, sublime atmospherics and delicate ambient textures this compilation reaches forward into uncharted realms while stirring up ephemeral recollections of days gone by. a perfect blend of chilled-out rhythms and open spaces, future memories offers the listener plenty of room to drift and groove. unfolding in its own time, this collection of tunes represents the sound of the ever-present moment.

future memories is the first release of 2008 and is reminiscent of earlier compilations such as interior horizons, infinessence and bliminal.  with tracks by mauxuam and eat Static, this album gives a taste of what’s to come for our two forthcoming artist albums due out this spring and summer.

interchill records is back with another bass-heavy artist album, this time courtesy of liquid stranger. ‘the invisible conquest’ is the next chapter in interchill’s dub travelogue composed by swedish born martin staaf. with tracks on previous interchill compilations like ‘earth octave lounge vol. 2’, ‘dissolving clouds’ and ‘bliminal', liquid stranger brings his unique atmospheric flavour to the new skool dubtronica genre via melodic bass lines, percussive grooves, tribal accents and minimal psychedelic overlays.

strongly referencing the foundations of traditional dub while adding a new spin that is all his own, liquid stranger takes the listener on a mesmerizing downtempo journey into the world of sound, rhythm and vision. staying true to interchill’s roots, this is a new take on organic electronica for expanding minds.

bass, sweat & tears is an organic fusion of dub and nu-beat with a global mix of influences. originally released in december 2004, this album is inspired by native cultures from around the world, taking the listener on a journey from burkina faso to iran, pakistan and northern india; from papua new guinea and the amazon rain forest to italy and spain.

an evocative, deep and elegant work in which indigenous themes and global beats contrast and compliment each other, bass, sweat & tears is gaudi’s fifth solo album and was three and a half years in the making. in that time gaudi worked with and recorded a total of 42 musicians from around the planet. this album, with its blend of global influences and style that evades categorization, reflects interchill’s philosophy that, irrespective of which corner of the globe it comes from, good music is good music.

devil in the detail is the latest downtempo breaks and bass compilation from interchill records. with a heavy dose of chunk, crunch and glitched out textures, this album presents a diverse range of idm-inspired tunes from producers in the us, uk, holland, switzerland and israel.

compiled by uk-based label dj/webmaster/graphic designer nick edell, this fresh collection of tracks opens a new horizon in the interchill multiverse with a focus on clear minimalism and hyper-refined sounds. emphasizing the growing glitch scene emerging on the west coast of north america, devil in the detail brings together a complimentary selection of tunes from this intriguing musical aesthetic. from the delicate and atmospheric spaces of faction, tripglitch (aka tripswitch) and legiac to the rumbling bass and beats of gaudi, tipper, ooah and vibesquad, the compilation is all about the detail - leaving much to the imagination while revealing the fact that there’s more to the psychedelic world of downtempo electronica than first meets the eye.

walkin' target is the debut album of producer / bass player / solo artist ashtech.

an intersection of original dub styles and urban electronica, the album is produced and co-written by dub maestro gaudi with an emphasis on live sound manipulations and high-end engineering. with ashtech’s fat basslines laying down deep, dub-wise grooves and gaudi's solid production trademark imprinted throughout, this roots laden album includes 4 tracks featuring the inimitable vocal stylings by cheshire cat from the legendary production outfit leftfield.

this album draws its name from the title track which tells the story of the ‘walkin’ target’ – the sad and true story of a mother who lost her child and did not have the time to say goodbye. this track, in the finest roots-reggae tradition, speaks to the oppressed, suffering and defenceless people of the world, the victims of a system that makes ‘everyone a walkin’ target’.

After a series of weekly meetings in the studio over 3 years, London neighbors Michael Sassen aka Michael Dog (Planet Dog, Megadog) and Steve Rowlands (Full Moon Scientist) came up with their aptly titled debut album, 133 Thursdays.

133 Thursdays is a deep, coherent and diverse body of work reflecting the dynamic juxtaposition of these two seasoned underground artists. Fusing electronic-tinged psychedelic jazz, mellow house, chilled grooves and prog rock with a touch of classical hip hop, they’ve created a quality home listening album that pays no heed to current musical trends or other artists’ styles. A standout collection of well produced tracks, 133 Thursdays is an essential listening experience for open-minded people into eclectic sounds.
